Dear M100 Family,
We are approaching the final month of our school year! There is a LOT of important information in this update, please be sure to read through everything! Keep pushing to the end! Here is your weekend update!
NEW INFORMATION AND UPDATES
5/1 RESCHEDULED DRUM MAJOR AUDITIONS - The drum major auditions will be held tomorrow, Monday, May 1st. Since we needed to reschedule the auditions and there may be students that are unable to meet after school, we will be providing the option to audition either after school or in class tomorrow. Since this will affect the groups for the "Met In and Out" portion of the audition, this will now be done INDIVIDUALLY instead of in groups. Our plan is to announce the full leadership team after the conclusion of all auditions.
LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT - If we are able to complete the drum major auditions by the end of the day tomorrow, we will announce the leadership team tomorrow evening, and there will be a leadership meeting before school on Tuesday, May 2nd from 8:15am-8:30am. If we are not able to get everything done tomorrow, we will announce the leadership team after the Fundamentals camp on Wednesday evening.
WIND ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS THIS WEEK - Here is the schedule for the early morning Wind Ensemble rehearsals this week.
MONDAY, MAY 1
Seniors arrive at 8:50am, everyone else arrive at 8:15am for placement auditions.
TUESDAY, MAY 2
Rehearsal begins at 8:30am due to leadership meeting from 8:15am-8:30am.
WEDNESDAY MAY 3 THRU FRIDAY, MAY 5
Rehearsal begins for all Wind Ensemble students at 8:15am.
5/1-5/5 FALL 2023 M100 BAND PLACEMENT AUDITIONS - We will begin our band auditions for next year this week during classes. We will go in reverse class order for each band period: Juniors, then sophomores, then freshmen.
BHS JAZZ ENSEMBLE AT TARLETON STATE - Congratulations to the BHS Jazz ensemble for receiving a "Division 1" rating and being named "Outstanding 5A Jazz Ensemble" at the Tarleton State Jazz Festival!
5/1 BAND BOOSTER MEETING - There will be a Band Booster meeting on Monday, May 1st at 6:30pm in the BHS commons. Executive meeting will take place at 6pm. More boosters are needed for next year so please attend if you are able!
5/2-5/3 M100 FUNDAMENTALS CAMP - We will be having our M100 Fundamentals Camp this Tuesday and Wednesday from 5pm-7pm! THIS IS A REQUIRED EVENT FOR ALL CURRENT FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORE AND JUNIOR WIND PLAYERS. (Guard and Percussion will not attend this camp.) PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING WATER AND APPROPRIATE CLOTHES SHOES FOR MARCHING! The schedule can be found below.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3RD
5:00pm - Meet OUTSIDE AT PRACTICE FIELD
6:00pm - Transition to Band Hall
6:15pm - Music Rehearsal (Brass and Woodwinds will be combined)
7:00pm - Rehearsal Ends
5/4 WIND ENSEMBLE CONCERT - The Wind Ensemble will be providing a concert on Thursday, May 4th at 7:15pm in the BHS Performing Arts Center. The Wind Ensemble is competing in the 5A Honor Band process with our 2023 UIL Concert program and this concert will serve as our final recording opportunity. This performance will be free and open to the public! Attire for students will be solid black (black button-down, black slacks, black dresses, close-toed black shoes, etc). Call time is 6:00pm for Wind Ensemble students in the Band Hall.
5/11 AND 5/17 M100 SPRING TRIP REHEARSALS - The students attending the M100 spring trip to Dallas will be performing at the Reunion Tower on Saturday, May 20th. Since we will be performing, we will need to schedule rehearsals after school on Thursday, May 11th and Wednesday, May 17th from 4:45pm-6:45pm We will also have a spring trip meeting for students and parents on Thursday, May 11th after the rehearsal concludes at 6:45pm.
5/15-5/19 FALL 2023 JAZZ ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS - Auditions for the 23-24 BHS Jazz Ensemble will take place during band classes the week of May 15-May 19. Contact Mr. Kreger for more information.
5/19 BAND BANQUET - The M100 Band Banquet will be held on Friday, May 19th at 6:30pm in the Expo Center. Click HERE to access the flier to purchase tickets. EVERYONE SHOULD BUY THEIR TICKETS ASAP IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY SO THAT FOOD CAN BE ORDERED!
5/25 BHS GRADUATION - All members of the M100 that are not graduating will perform at the BHS Graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 25th at 1:00pm. We will have full ensemble rehearsals on the following dates before school through Wind Ensemble class on the following dates. Students will be excused from 1st period classes on these days.
Friday, May 19th from 8:15am to 9:40am
Tuesday, May 22nd from 8:15am to 9:40am
Wednesday, May 23rd from 8:15am to 9:40am
(New Tech Students will be excused at 9:20am on each of these days)
