Belton and Lake Belton Colorguard Tryout Information:
The first day of tryouts will take place on Monday, April 13th, with two following on Tuesday, April 14th and Thursday, April 16th. The times of the audition for each day are 5-6:30 PM. It is preferred if all are in attendance, but if you are unable to attend one of the days it is not a problem, but if you can attend all three it would be of your best benefit. If there is a scheduling issue please communicate with Mr. Hudnall before hand, so that he understands the issues behind not being able to attend. The tryout will be located in the gymnasiums at the 9th grade center of Belton High School.
Those attending should wear clothes that are easy to move in and stretch. Please bring water, so that you can stay hydrated throughout the process. If you have any injuries, it is highly recommended to bring knee, ankle, or other braces, and if you have any health conditions please communicate them with director Cody Hudnall (at firstname.lastname@example.org).
Things to Expect:
At the tryout, participants can anticipate experiencing dance basics and color guard skills. This includes learning proper stretch and beginning skills for movement through a short piece of dance choreography that the candidate will audition with. The color guard skills that will be taught at the audition will be on flag through a short and fun flag choreography piece. It is also encouraged that those attending should invite friends to enjoy all of the fun!
It is optional for parents to observe the tryout process, but not necessary. For parents interested in becoming a part of the band community, there is a Band Parent Association meeting on March 16th. It will be at Belton High School in the commons starting at 6:30PM. For those interested in a weekly newsletter, contact Mr. Hundall.
