NEW INFORMATION AND UPDATES

ONLY 2 WEEKS UNTIL THE FIRST ELIGIBILITY CHECK!!!

ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ACADEMICALLY ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN UIL EVENTS. Even though Belton High School operates on 9 week grading periods, our first eligibility check will occur at the end of the first 6 weeks on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2023. ANY STUDENT WITH A GRADE BELOW A 70 IN AN ON LEVEL CLASS WILL BECOME INELIGIBLE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. NO FOOTBALL GAMES, NO MARCHING CONTESTS. The success of our marching season depends heavily on students taking care of business in their classes. Parents and guardians, please check on student grades in Skyward periodically to ensure everyone maintains eligibility.

9/11 BOOSTER MEETING

There will be a booster meeting next Monday, September 11 at 6:30pm in the commons.

SHOW SHIRTS COMING IN THIS WEEK

The show shirts for this year should be coming in this week, along with the orders of shoes and uniform unders. Students will be given these orders in their band classes. If there are any issues with orders, please contact the boosters at boostercalendar@gmail.com.

SNACK DROP OFF

If you would like to drop off snacks and drinks for our upcoming games and contests, you can do so on Tuesdays after our band rehearsals. Drop off location will be at the band hall. This week we are on the lookout for sweet snacks! (Gatorade Zero/Powerade Zero, Skittles, cookies, fruit snacks and non-melting sweets!) Thank you so much for your support of the M100!

9/15 MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT

Our home game on Friday, September 15 will be Military Appreciation night. Please use the following link to upload photos of yourself or of family members that have served in any of the various military branches. These images will be displayed on the jumbotron before the start of the football game. The deadline for submiting your photo will be Tuesday, September 12.

9/15 BHS PEP RALLY

The M100 will be performing during the pep rally during Tiger Time on Friday, September 15. Attire will be the M100 summer uniform. The theme of this pep rally is “Party in the USA” in honor of Military Appreciation night, so you may also wear red, white and blue patriotic clothing as well! Students will be excused from 4th period and will report directly to the band hall at 1:50pm on Friday.

9/15 FOOTBALL GAME VS SAN ANGELO CENTRAL HS

Our next football game of the season will be a home game against San Angelo Central HS at Tiger Field. You can view the itinerary for the game by clicking HERE, or by checking the “Itineraries” tab on the front page of the band website!

9/30 HILL COUNTRY MARCHING FESTIVAL

Our first marching contest of the season will be the Hill Country Marching Festival in Fredericksburg, TX. Our performance time will be 6:15pm at this contest. There is no prelims/finals format for this contest, so we will only perform once. This contest is also the same day as the Belton HS homecoming dance, so students will unfortunately be unable to attend the dance due to the distance. I apologize for the inconvenience and the band staff will discuss options to avoid conflicts with the homecoming dance in the future.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED

Parents and guardians, please click on the following links to access the sign-ups for volunteering throughout the season! The M100 would not be the organization that it is without the support of the parents and boosters, and volunteering your time is one of the best ways to keep the M100 going strong!

  1. ALL BUS CHAPERONES MUST COMPLETE THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION OR YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RIDE THE BUS!

  2. WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR POPCORN SALES!!!

M100 AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

The M100 calendar has been updated with all of the rehearsals for the upcoming school year. You can access the calendar on beltonmarching100.com/calendar. Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding these rehearsals.

  • Any anticipated conflicts need to be communicated to a director ASAP! If you know of any conflicts, please email kevin.kwaku@bisd.net.

  • There are various construction projects occurring between the band hall and our practice field. More effort will be needed to arrive at the practice field on time for rehearsals.

  • Throughout the season, we will be hosting guest clinicians to assist in elevating the quality of our program. These individuals have experienced a great deal of success in the marching activity. In order to make the most of these opportunities, we MUST have quality attendance at these rehearsals. Please avoid conflicts with the following dates.

  • Thursday, October 5, 5:00pm-7:30pm with Bob Chreste
