Weekend Update 5-1-22

Dear M100 Family,

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and for those who attended Prom - hope you had a wonderful night!

Thanks to all who auditioned for band placement this past week. IF you were absent and need to reschedule, please contact a director ASAP!

Congratulations to our friends in Choir! They just finished their UIL evaluations this past week and all 6 groups who performed earned Superior and Excellent ratings! Thanks to Jacob Wiley, Sam Fothergill, and Matthew Fulford for performing with the Varsity Women’s choir at UIL! Fantastic performance!

BHS is the place for Fine Arts!!!!

We are now in May! It’s a mad dash to Graduation! Please read on!

(If your child receives an award, gets accepted into college, or earns another other sort of distinction, let us know! We are proud and happy to highlight all the great things about our students!)

BAND BOOSTER MEETING TOMORROW & IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT BANQUET TICKETS!

Please plan to attend the last booster meeting of the year on Monday, May 2nd at 6:30pm in the Commons. The executive committee will meet at 5:30pm, and the banquet committee will meet immediately following the general meeting, around 7:00pm. We will be electing next year’s officers and making plans for the final events of the year.

This year’s banquet, “Celebrating our Stars,” will be held on Friday, May 20th, from 7-9pm. Band student tickets are $20 and parent and guest tickets are $30. The last day to purchase tickets is Sunday, May 8th. Email cassie.fothergill@gmail.com if you have questions.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL - BOND ELECTION!

The district bond election is coming next month on May 7. Early voting begins April 25. The bond propositions include many projects (INCLUDING A NEW BAND HALL) that directly impact Belton High School. Attached is a flier that outlines these specifically. Your vote matters! Either way, please make sure you vote on this bond. On Thursday, April 14, there will be a parent informational meeting at 6:00PM in the BHS Commons to discuss the bond. We hope you can attend!

BAND AUDITION RESULTS

These will be posted to the beltonmarching100.com website as soon as we can finish up all auditions and tally results. Directors are still working to catch students who needed to reschedule both at the HS and MS. Thank you for your patience.

Percussion auditions will be conducted by Mr. Smith on Friday, May 6th. You may contact him if you have any percussion related audition questions. ian.smith@bisd.net

BAND BANQUET UPDATES

Banquet ticket sales will open online on Monday, April 18th. Parent and guest tickets will cost $30, band student tickets will cost $20, and senior band students will be admitted at no charge.

LAST DAY TO PURCHASE - SUNDAY, MAY 8TH.

Senior Families,

Saturday, April 16th, we will open our ticketing website to seniors and senior families only. Beginning at 8am, you can go to beltonbandboosters.simpletix.com and select your seats for the banquet. It is our first time to use this web-based ticketing, so here are a few things to consider.

1. This site allows you to reserve a specific table and seats. The diagram shows correct table placement in the Expo, with tables of 8. Discuss as a family if you will sit with your student, or if they would like to sit with friends. Families can arrange to sit together by coordinating table numbers and purchasing around the same time. Seniors, make plans with your friends before your reserve your seats. Changes can be made after purchase, but they will cause delays in seat selection.

2. Seniors are free, but you might see a $1 fee for their ticket. I'm currently working with the company to change it to $0, but I may not have it fixed by tomorrow. I am sorry if you have to pay for their ticket, but it might be good to go ahead and pay to reserve a spot.

3. Watch the tutorial video ahead of time to get a feel for the website. https://youtu.be/Q9SudcCAULY

4. A selection of silent auction items will appear before you checkout. If you see an item that you would like to "buy now," just add the item to your cart. There are quite a few good deals that you can grab before they go to silent auction, including a $100 discount on a charcuterie display for 50 people!

Honoring the Seniors of 2022 is our ultimate goal for this banquet! We want the whole experience to be the best for these great kids, so reach out to me if you have any trouble getting your tickets.

Happy Easter,

Cassie Fothergill (254-913-2602)
