INSTRUMENT / ITEM RETRIEVAL
As per the Belton ISD website (April 20 Covid-19 Update):
We are working on plans to distribute personal possessions from classrooms and lockers once state and county directives are lifted to allow entry into buildings. Please watch for communication from your campus in May with more details.
SENIOR PICTURES
I need a picture of your senior band student by this coming Wednesday April 29th or sooner please. Sent pictures in JPEG format to Shannon.gill@bisd.net. Administration will begin a series of recognitions to honor our seniors. Fine Arts will be showcased on May 4th.
M100 MARCHING TECHNIQUE VIDEOS
Mr. Kwaku is providing videos explaining the marching technique we use at BHS. Please view these videos and start preparing for next year.
There is a google classroom class set up to provide opportunities for students to submit videos of themselves demonstrating the techniques discussed in the videos. (optional)

NEW MEMBER & CURRENT MEMBER POWER POINT:
A new & current member power point will be made available on April 30th on our band website and through email. This video is replacing a Spring Parent meeting so please view for new information for the coming summer & school year.
A Message to Seniors and their families from the BHS Band Boosters:
With the ongoing stay at home orders and inability to gather, Belton Band Boosters wish to provide a forum to celebrate and say goodbye to our Senior Class of 2020.
Belton Band Boosters will add Senior Band Pictures on the Booster website. Pictures will showcase future plans for each graduating student and detail some of their fondest memories of belonging to Belton Bands.
Belton Band Boosters have already ordered our traditional Senior blankets. However, the business that is providing blankets is a non-essential. As soon as it is safe and within BISD guidelines, Belton Boosters will deliver the blankets to 2020 Seniors. Boosters will continue to communicate with Seniors about the status of blankets.
Senior gift bags are being prepared as well. Bags are a clear drawstring with M100 logo. Bags will be given to Senior students when deemed appropriate by BISD.
We would like to extend an invitation to the 2020 Senior Class to join the current M100 at our end of summer band camp celebration in August 2020. Our wish is to hold an exclusive party for the current and former students at the Lions Junction Waterpark in Temple, Tx. Band Boosters will rent the park from 6-9pm. This has not been reserved as we are still working under COVID protocols. It will be communicated that we plan for this event but stay adaptive to any changes in BISD directives.
Belton Band Boosters would also like to extend an open invitation to graduating Seniors to attend our 2021 Band Banquet.
Belton Band Boosters is actively seeking any safe and appropriate activity, within district guidelines and within the social distancing protocols. We acknowledge the loss that not only the 2020 Senior class but their parents, family, and classmates all face. We not only look to take care of our Seniors; we are looking for ways for the bandmates of the 2020 Seniors to say goodbye. We will continue to communicate with Mrs. Gill and dedicate ourselves to providing a positive and sincere send-off to our M100 Seniors.
May 4th – BISD, BHS Band Boosters , and myself will highlight our Seniors on a variety of social media – District Webpage, Booster Facebook Page, our band website, and more. Please be on the look-out for information on how we will honor our seniors
VIDEOS TO RUN FOR BAND OFFICER
If you are interested in running for Band Captain, 1st or 2nd Lieutenant…
Make a video with the following requirements:
-Answer the question-Why should you be Band Captain/1st or 2nd Lieutenant?
-Keep it reasonable and clean as these will be posted on our YouTube channel
-Make the video your own. Be creative with it while still staying safe.

Fall Marching Show Reveal Video will be made available on band website-Home Page on Tuesday, May 5th! Check it out!
Officer Videos will be posted on YouTube and made available to view on Wednesday, May 6th. A YouTube link will be posted and a Google Form Ballot made available to vote on Band Officer, Section Leader, and Drum Major. All posted on website – Student page.
Voting will close and videos will be removed from YouTube on Friday, May 8th. You will not be able to fill out the google form beyond this date.
Results for Band Placement, Drum Major, Section Leader, and Band Officers will be posted on our website (Students page) on Monday, May 11th.
Graduation has been rescheduled to June 18 with a July 18 date as a back-up if needed. It is unclear at this time what sort of role the band will play in the event if any. More information to come as it is learned.
Summer Band is still scheduled to begin in late July – please continue to check the band calendar for any updates. All up-coming dates are listed on the home page of the band website as well.
Parents – I’m happy to share any birthday that occurs during the current week – please send me some fun photos and I’ll send a Happy Birthday out over these announcements!
