Weekend Update 12/4

Dear M100 Family,


Congratulations to those who participated in the All-Region band auditions yesterday at Harker Heights! The staff is very proud of the work you have put in since the etudes were released in July, and we are excited to see how much more we can grow as we progress through the school year! Also, concert week is upon us! There is a lot to think about and prepare for as we approach our final performances of the semester. Here is your weekend update!

NEW INFORMATION AND UPDATES

12/5 FORMAL WEAR PICK-UP - Students will need to pick up their formal wear from the band hall TOMORROW, MONDAY DECEMBER 5. Mrs. Grant will be in the band hall after school tomorrow and on Thursday to address any concerns. Please take your formal wear home and try it on so we can solve any issues before the performance on Friday!


REGION 8 ALL-REGION AUDITION RESULTS - On Saturday, we had 52 students attend the Region 8 All-Region band auditions. Among those students, we had 30 students place in an ensemble and 19 students qualify for 6A Area! All of these students will perform at the All-Region Clinic and Concert on January 20-21, and the Area students will move on to the Area auditions on January 7 in Duncanville to compete for a spot in the Texas All-State Band!

12/10 TMEA FRESHMAN REGION 8 BAND AUDITIONS - The TMEA Freshman All-Region Band auditions will be held on Saturday, December 10 at Shoemaker High School. We will take buses from BHS and our call time will be 8:00am. Below is a rough itinerary for the day:


8:00am - Call time at BHS

8:15am - Depart for Shoemaker HS 8:45am - Arrive at Shoemaker HS

10:00am - Auditions Begin

12:30pm - Approx. Audition End Time (for all auditions)

1:00pm - Approx. Audition End Time

1:30pm - Approx. Arrive at BHS

12/6 BHS CLUSTER JAZZ CONCERT - The Belton MS, South Belton MS and Belton HS Jazz Ensembles will be performing their Holiday Jazz concert on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30pm in the BHS PAC. Each of the ensembles have been working hard to put these programs together and would greatly appreciate your support!

12/9 BHS BANDS WINTER CONCERT - The BHS Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble will be performing their Winter Concert on Friday, December 9 at 6:00pm (THIS IS A CHANGE) in the BHS PAC. Each of the ensembles have been working hard to put these programs together and would greatly appreciate your support! Symphonic Band, you have a quick turn-around to be ready to go between the end of school

12/12 PIT ORCHESTRA MEETING - The Pit Orchestra for the 2023 BHS Musical, "Urinetown" will be on Monday, December 12 from 4:45pm-5:15pm. I will be approaching players based on All-Region Audition results. Instrumentation is very limited for this musical so there will not be as many players as in years past.
