Dear M100 Families, Congratulations to our FABULOUS WINTER GUARD!!!!! All 3 groups competed in their first Texas Colorguard Circuit contest this Sat. at Westwood HS and had outstanding results. Our sub non-varsity C group placed 7th in their division and did a great job! These students are brand new to this activity, having just started learning these skills this month and are already competing! They competed against some other school’s 2nd guards! Our 2nd group – the Non-Varsity group – took 3rd place in their category, and our Varsity group took 1st place, WINNING their category!!!! Outstanding results for some outstanding performers! Very exciting! Their next competition is on Feb. 8th – WGI Power Regional in Coppell, TX., the next is on Feb. 22 in Kyle, TX, and the next on Feb. 29 in Buda, TX. This is a circuit so they do many competitions – all are listed on the band calendar. Come out and support these students! They are working extremely hard and the shows are truly awesome! Congratulations to their instructors Mr. Hudnall and Mr. Tidwell! Very proud!

*PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT FEES FOR SOLO CONTEST
This is a fee paid by each student for the service of a professional piano accompanist to rehearse twice with each student and perform with them at the solo contest on Feb. 8th. This only applies to brass or woodwind students who are doing a solo with piano accompanist who have indicated they need the school to provide an accompanist. Pianist will be paid no more than $50 for this service this year. I will confirm the total as soon as possible and let you know when payment is due and who to make a check out to, etc. as soon as I can. If a student has difficulty making this payment, please contact Mrs. Gill. Thank you!

SOLO/ENSEMBLE ELIGIBILITY
If a student failed a regular credit class at the report card (“2nd” column on report card), the have until JANUARY 31 to be passing all reg. credit classes in order to be eligible for UIL solo/ensemble on Feb. 8th. Please keep up with your grades!!!!

*SENIOR TRIP
Medical forms were due to Mrs. Gill on Monday, Dec. 16th. If you need a form please see the website – Senior Spring Trip 2020. Also – the check for monies earned from students working concession and other refunds was mailed yesterday to the trip company. Another payment is coming up due on the 11th. Please check your account on the trip website in the coming days as the fundraising monies should be applied. Thanks!
