SENIORS WILL PLAY DURING CLASS THIS WEEK

Due to our upcoming spring game this thursday

5/13 BISD BOARD MEETING RECOGNITIONS FOR STATE QUALIFIERS

At the beginning of the next BISD Board meeting on Monday, May 13, students that qualified for state events will be recognized. This will include the band students that qualified for State Solo and Ensemble, as well as the entire Winter Guard team for qualifying for the State TCGC Competition.


DETAILS:

Pittenger Fine Arts Center (400 N. Wall Street, Belton)

Monday, May 13

Arrive at 5:50 p.m. (meeting starts promptly at 6:15 p.m.) 

Student Showcase – please be set up by 5:40 p.m.

Students/staff are asked to remain seated as a group after their recognition while other groups are still being recognized. Everyone can exit together at the end of the recognition before the meeting continues.


***The Belton MS Jazz Band will be performing at the board meeting and has asked if we can help with moving their equipment before the start of the meeting. Please stick around to help after the recognition is over!

5/15 AND 5/17 DRUMLINE EVENTS

The Drumline will be performing at the following events. Please view the following itineraries.


Wednesday, May 15-Hubbard Branch Opening

 

8 AM-Drumline reports to band hall

815-Load busses with equipment

845-Perform while students enter the new school

915-Load busses and go back to BHS

10AM-Arrive at BHS and report to 5th period

 

Friday, May 17-Proud to be an American Parade

 

715 AM-Drumline reports to band hall

730-Load busses with equipment

8 AM-Ceremony begins

10AM-Approximate end of the ceremony

1015-Load bus and go to the administration building

11AM-Perform for Admin (downtown Belton)

1130-Approximate return to BHS for pizza lunch


5/16 SPRING FOOTBALL GAME

The M100 will be performing at this year's Spring Football Game on Thursday, May 16! Front Ensemble members will not attend the spring game, but are strongly encouraged to help with the Belton MS Spring Concert. Please view the itinerary below.


Attire: M100 jersey, tennis shoes

Equipment: Instrument, Flip Folder, Water jug (You should clean this if you haven’t used it since marching season)

6:15pm - Call Time at the Band Hall

7:00pm - Game Begins

9:00pm - Approx. End Time


5/17 BAND BANQUET

The 2024 Band Banquet will be held on Friday, May 17 at the Expo Center at 6:30pm.

The banquet will have an “80s” Theme in the spirit of our marching show this year, so attire will be semi-formal, or you can go full out 80s! (As long as it is school appropriate 🙂)


5/18-5/19 M100 SPRING TRIP TO SAN ANTONIO

The M100 Spring Trip to San Antonio will be this weekend from Saturday, May 18-Sunday, May 19. Students will need to arrive by 8:00am with all of their belongings for the trip. We will depart from BHS for Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor at 8:30am. Please click on the link below to view the full itinerary for the trip.



Please view the following spreadsheet and have ONE PERSON PER ROOM email kevin.kwaku@bisd.net with your rooming requests. This will need to be completed by the end of the day Monday, May 13. Any requests not sent by this time will be placed in rooms randomly.



Also, if you are going on the trip, please join the trip Remind through the app or by texting the code “@24m1san” to the number 81010.


5/23 BHS GRADUATION - All members of the M100 that are not graduating will perform at the BHS Graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00pm. All students will meet during Wind Ensemble class on the following dates. Students that are not in Wind Ensemble will be excused from 1st period on these days. (We will not begin rehearsal before school like we have done in the past.)


Tuesday, May 21 from 8:50am to 9:40am

Wednesday, May 22 from 8:50am to 9:40am


THURSDAY, MAY 23 GRADUATION ITINERARY

10:45am - Call Time at the Band Hall

11:00am - Depart for Expo Center

11:15am - Arrive at Expo Center/Unload Equipment

11:45am - Music Run-Through

1:00pm - CEREMONY BEGINS

3:00pm - Approximate End Time

3:30pm - Approx. Depart from Expo Center

3:45pm - Approx. Arrival at Band Hall


If you have a family member graduating from BISD on this day, you may be excused from performing at graduation. Please email kevin.kwaku@bisd.net if this applies to you.


5/25 AND 5/27 TEXAS STATE SOLO AND ENSEMBLE

The Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest will be held on Saturday, May 25 and Monday, May 27 at Pflugerville HS for percussionists and Connally HS (Pflugerville ISD) for wind instruments. Students will be expected to provide their own transportation to and from this event. Please view the schedule below for your day and time. The specific locations have not been determined yet but I will update
