Congratulations to our Varsity WinterGuard for another great performance Saturday at the WGI contest in New Braunfels. Best of luck to the cast and crew of Matilda as they prepare for their second performance today at 2pm! Looking forward to it! Please read the weekend update - new information! Thanks.

SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST - PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT FEES DUE FEB. 18TH

Students who are performing a solo WITH PIANO ACCOMPANIMENT (some are unaccompanied - ask your child) for the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest on Feb. 26th, need to pay their piano accompaniment fee for the pianist to provide 2 rehearsals and the performance. The fee is $50 per solo. CHECKS MADE OUT TO BELTON HS BAND BOOSTERS (include your child’s first and last name on the memo line of the check) or cash in an envelope with the student's name printed clearly on the envelope. Give the checks/cash to Mrs. Gill. I will provide a receipt or email parents to let them know I received payment. On the contest day, the boosters will present the check to each accompanist for one whole payment, rather than many individual checks.

FINANCIAL AID may be available. PLEASE communicate with shannon.gill@bisd.net if you need to inquire about financial aid.

Thank you!

TARLETON STATE UNIVERSITY WIND ENSEMBLE AT BHS PAC - TUES. FEB. 8

All band students will be excused from their 2nd period class to attend this performance in the BHS PAC. All students should meet in the BHS Band Hall at 9:45am and we will move together to the PAC. New Tech students should take the appropriate shuttle to make it to BHS by 9:45am. Students will be released from the performance at approximately 11:00am. They will have plenty of time to make it to their 3rd period class. New Tech students - take appropriate shuttle back to New Tech if needed.

BHS BANDS ENSEMBLE DINNER CONCERT - FEB. 24TH - BHS COMMONS

5:30pm start. Schedule coming soon.

All band students will perform in an ensemble this evening. Audience members may come and eat while watching their child’s ensemble. This is a come and go event so audience members are not expected to stay for all ensembles, of course you can if you wish! Band members may also purchase a meal and watch their friends perform as long as they allow at least 30 minutes to warm-up and prepare before their performance. It is recommended that students eat after their performance if it’s not too late. Plates will need to be purchased ahead of time.

  • PLEASE SEE THIS GOOGLE FORM TO PURCHASE A PLATE BEFORE FEB. 21ST: (food purchase is optional but this minor fundraiser will help off-set the cost of solo and ensemble fees for students-Thank you!)

AJ HOWARD MEMORIAL 5K RACE - SAT., FEB. 19

PARTICIPATE:

The AJ Howard Memorial 5K will be Saturday, February 19, at Liberty Park in Belton. The race starts at 9am and offers a full 5K, a sleep-in 5K, and a 2-person relay. Registrants 18 & under get a reduced price for the full 5k.

We’ve included a 2-person relay for this year's event in the hope of offering something fun and it doesn't require someone to run the whole 3.1 miles. Teams of two, any gender mix, enter for $10 per person. The first person runs a 1.55 out and back course, tags their teammate, who then runs the same 1.55 mile course and finishes. The top male, mixed gender, and female teams will get a prize.

Pricing and race details can be viewed at https://runsignup.com/ajhowardmemorial5K
