NEW INFORMATION AND UPDATES
FIRST ELIGIBILITY CHECK HAS PASSED
THE FIRST ELIGIBILITY CHECK OF THE SCHOOL YEAR WAS LAST FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2023. ANY STUDENT WITH A GRADE BELOW A 70 IN AN ON-LEVEL CLASS WILL BECOME INELIGIBLE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. NO FOOTBALL GAMES, NO MARCHING CONTESTS.
THERE IS A GRACE PERIOD FOR TEACHERS TO ENTER GRADES. If there is a failing grace in your gradebook, there is a possibility that the teacher has not yet input the grade. I will send out the official notification of eligibility once I receive the report from the counselor.
STUDENTS ARE STILL REQUIRED TO ATTEND REHEARSALS IF THEY ARE INELIGIBLE. In the event that a student regains their eligibility, attending rehearsals will prevent the need to catch up after three weeks.
Students that had failing grades in an on-level class on Friday, September 22, will become ineligible beginning on Friday, September 29 at 4:25pm. These students will not be allowed to attend the following events:
9/29 FB vs. Elgin
9/30 Hill Country Marching Festival
10/6 FB @ Rouse
10/7 Vista Ridge Marching Festival
10/13 FB vs. Connally
10/14 UIL Region 8 Marching Contest
Students will be able to regain eligibility if all on-level grades are a 70 or above on the date of the next eligibility check, which is Friday, October 13. Eligibility will be reinstated on Friday, October 20th at 4:25pm.
Since Friday, October 13 is the last day of the 9 week grading period, students can still lose their eligibility at this time! It is imperative that all students continue to monitor their grades, even if they pass the eligibility check.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JAZZ ALL-REGION STUDENTS
Congrats to the 7 students who placed in one of the All-Region Jazz bands. These students will perform at the Region 8 Jazz Clinic and Concert in February. Students with (AREA) marked next to their name will audition this Wednesday for an opportunity to place in one of the All-State Jazz groups!

9/25 CLINICIAN REHEARSAL
Tomorrow, we will be inviting Brittany Dacy to work with our band program. Mrs. Dacy is the Assistant Director of Bands at Westwood High School, and the director of the Westwood Warrior Marching Band. Under her direction, the Westwood band has had many years of success at BOA and State Marching contests. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Dacy out to work with us, so it is imperative that we all attend this rehearsal on time and ready to work!
9/26 PROP REHEARSAL - PARENTS NEEDED
We will have our first rehearsal with props on Tuesday, September 26th. If you are signed up to volunteer for props, we will need you at practice to see where we will place you. If you have not signed up yet for props, we could really use your help. These props really help with the show effects and since we are using just about every student on the field already, we will need parents to help. All equipment except front drops are on wheels. This gets you down on the field and into the show as an up close view of the students. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VOLUNTEERING!
9/28 BURNING OF THE “B”
The annual “Burning of the ‘B’” event will occur on Thursday, September 28. The event will begin at 5:30pm on the practice field, but the call time for band students will be 6:30pm in the band hall. This will give students the opportunity to attend the event before we begin rehearsal.
Attire: M100 Summer Uniform (jersey, M100 shorts, tennis shoes)
6:30pm - Call Time in the Band Hall
7:15pm - Move to Practice Field
7:30pm - Perform Stand Tunes
8:00pm - Burning of the “B”
8:15pm - Approx. Dismissal
9/29 HOME FOOTBALL GAME VS. ELGIN HS
Our next football game of the season will be a home game against Elgin HS at Tiger Field. You can view the itinerary for the game by clicking HERE, or by checking the “Itineraries” tab on the front page of the band website!
PLEASE EMAIL boostercalendar@gmail.com IF YOU HAVE ANY UNIFORM ISSUES!
9/30 HILL COUNTRY MARCHING FESTIVAL
Our first marching contest of the season will be the Hill Country Marching Festival in Fredericksburg, TX. Our performance time will be 6:30pm (THIS IS A CHANGE) at this contest. There is no prelims/finals format for this contest, so we will only perform once. This contest is also the same day as the Belton HS homecoming dance, so students will unfortunately be unable to attend the dance due to the distance. I apologize for the inconvenience and the band staff will discuss options to avoid conflicts with the homecoming dance in the future.
Please click HERE to view the itinerary for the Hill Country Marching Festival.
MEALS FOR THE WEEK
The McGowan family is providing chopped beef sandwiches, sausage wraps, macaroni salad, chips, and cookies for the Friday Homecoming Game’s dinner in the commons. Thank you McGowan family!
Saturday Competition: After the kids practice and load the trailers, they will have Jason's Deli meal ready to pick. up and eat on the way to the competition.
After the competition before we come home: The competition has a meal deal offer of BBQ.
Snacks will be provided for the ride home.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED
Parents and guardians, please click on the following links to access the sign-ups for volunteering throughout the season! The M100 would not be the organization that it is without the support of the parents and boosters, and volunteering your time is one of the best ways to keep the M100 going strong!
WE HAVE A NEW “VIDEOGRAPHER” SLOT OPEN FOR A VOLUNTEER TO TAKE A VIDEO OF OUR HALFTIME PERFORMANCES. Please click the “PROP PUSHING SIGN-UP” link below to view the volunteer slot. Thank you!
PREVIOUS INFORMATION AND UPDATES
SNACK DROP OFF
If you would like to drop off snacks and drinks for our upcoming games and contests, you can do so on Tuesdays after our band rehearsals. Drop off location will be at the band hall. This week we are on the lookout for sweet snacks! (Gatorade Zero/Powerade Zero, Skittles, cookies, fruit snacks and non-melting sweets!) Thank you so much for your support of the M100!
M100 AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
The M100 calendar has been updated with all of the rehearsals for the upcoming school year. You can access the calendar on beltonmarching100.com/calendar. Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding these rehearsals.
Any anticipated conflicts need to be communicated to a director ASAP! If you know of any conflicts, please email kevin.kwaku@bisd.net.
There are various construction projects occurring between the band hall and our practice field. More effort will be needed to arrive at the practice field on time for rehearsals.
Throughout the season, we will be hosting guest clinicians to assist in elevating the quality of our program. These individuals have experienced a great deal of success in the marching activity. In order to make the most of these opportunities, we MUST have quality attendance at these rehearsals. Please avoid conflicts with the following dates.
Monday, September 25, 5:00pm-7:30pm with Brittany Dacy (Westwood HS)
Thursday, October 5, 5:00pm-7:30pm with Bob Chreste
Wednesday, October 18, 5:00pm-7:00pm with Manny Maldonado (Cedar Park HS, CTJ HS, Belton HS Program Coordinator)
