Dear M100 Family,
What an awesome week we’ve had! We welcomed new members last Monday and Tuesday and then all members back Wednesday through Friday! We’ve already had some great rehearsals AND the students did an outstanding job kicking off our Flamingoing Fundraiser this last Thursday and Friday! Everything Day went VERY WELL and we had excellent attendance! Thank you to all students and parents for your hard work and support this past week! We look forward to this coming week and getting so much done in the coming rehearsals. We have a great show and we can’t wait to put it all together!

August 13– CONVOCATION AT BHS / Parent Preview Performance
Instruments, WATER, sunscreen, hats, tennis shoes, M100 Jersey, music, flip folders, lyres (if applicable) needed. Colorguard - ask Mr H. for your uniform requirements for this day.
9:00am – 11:00am - Convocation- inside. Report to Band Hall at 9am. Front Ensemble members need not attend Convocation unless you wish to play a cymbal part. Consult with Mr. Smith.
UNIFORM - M100 JERSEY, BLACK SHORTS, TENNIS SHOES
5:00pm - Pre-Performance rehearsal in Tiger Stadium. M100 Jersey, black shorts, tennis shoes.
6:30pm - Parent Preview Performance in Tiger Stadium.
Finished at approximately 7:30pm then transfer to the parking lot practice field for a surprise! Ask parents to pick you up at around 8-8:30pm (and bring a towel! ;-) in the parking lot practice field between Sparta and BMS.
August 14 - Meet the Tigers
Uniform - Red M100 T-shirts, Black Shorts, Tennis Shoes.
You’ll Need - Instrument, Music, Water.
6pm - Report to the Band Hall.
7pm - Event starts (pep rally type event in Tiger Stadium introducing all Sports / Band /Cheer / Belles, etc.)
8pm - approximate end time. You can be picked up from Tiger stadium OR Band Hall if you need to return your instrument.

INFORMATION FROM UIL REGARDING PHYSICALS FOR THOSE IN BAND FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR.

2021-2022 Report Forms & Pre-Participation Physicals
(1) Pre-participation Physical Examination. Upon entering the first and third years of high school, a physical examination signed by a physician, a physician assistant licensed by a State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners, a registered nurse recognized as an advanced practice nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners or a Doctor of Chiropractic is required. Standardized Pre-Participation Physical Examination Forms, available from the UIL office and authorized by the UIL Medical Advisory Committee, are required.
For the 2021-22 school year: Any participant in athletics or marching band, who was in their first or third year of high school during the 2020-21 school year and did not complete a Pre-Participation Physical Examination (PPE) for the 2020-21 school year, will be required to complete the Medical History Form as noted below, as well as a PPE prior to participation in any UIL practices, games, performances, or matches for the 2021-22 school year.
(5) Medical History Form. Each year prior to any practice or participation a UIL medical history form signed by both student and a parent or guardian is required. A medical history form shall accompany each physical examination and shall be signed by both student and a parent or guardian. EVERYONE NEEDS TO TURN IN THIS FORM, WHETHER THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GET A PHYSICAL OR NOT.
