Thank you to all students who participated in our leadership workshop sessions and the auditions. Some tough competition this year! Thank you also to those students who helped with logistics for our auditions and helped with the SBMS and BMS concerts! Thanks to our Band Boosters who volunteered to help with the concerts, uniforms, and host a volunteer table. We appreciate you!

Spring Football Game at Tiger Stadium - Thursday, May 27
BHS football will have a Spring game at Tiger Stadium on Thursday, May 27th starting at 7:00pm. They will play for 3 quarters, take a quick halftime, then play 2 more. Our band will sit in the stands and play some tunes to add some spirit to the game! This is on a voluntary basis but other spirit groups will be in attendance so we’d love a good showing too and it’s a great way to support our Football team and start gearing up for the Fall season!

5:30pm - Arrive at Band Hall
5:50pm - Leadership Inspection @ Bus Loop
6:00pm - Inspection for all @ Bus Loop
6:15pm - March from Bus Loop to Stadium
6:25pm - Enter Band Stands
7:00pm - Game Begins
8:30pm - Game Ends (approx.)
8:40pm - Exit stands, return to Band Hall
9:15pm - Band Hall closes
All times are subject to change, depending on when the game ends. Students, please be flexible and prepared to call your parents after the game if the ending time is earlier that what is indicated on the itinerary. See you on Thursday!

PRE-PARTICIPATION PHYSICALS FOR MARCHING BAND

NEW INFORMATION FROM UIL REGARDING PHYSICALS FOR THOSE IN BAND FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR.
This information provided now so you can plan ahead. Historically, these forms have not been due until the first day of summer band activity. You can turn them in to Mrs. Gill upon completion - early is good! Please see the band calendar for summer band dates.
2021-2022 Report Forms & Pre-Participation Physicals
(1) Pre-participation Physical Examination. Upon entering the first and third years of high school, a physical examination signed by a physician, a physician assistant licensed by a State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners, a registered nurse recognized as an advanced practice nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners or a Doctor of Chiropractic is required. Standardized Pre-Participation Physical Examination Forms, available from the UIL office and authorized by the UIL Medical Advisory Committee, are required.
For the 2021-22 school year: Any participant in athletics or marching band, who was in their first or third year of high school during the 2020-21 school year and did not complete a Pre-Participation Physical Examination (PPE) for the 2020-21 school year, will be required to complete the Medical History Form as noted below, as well as a PPE prior to participation in any UIL practices, games, performances, or matches for the 2021-22 school year.
(5) Medical History Form. Each year prior to any practice or participation a UIL medical history form signed by both student and a parent or guardian is required. A medical history form shall accompany each physical examination and shall be signed by both student and a parent or guardian. EVERYONE NEEDS TO TURN IN THIS FORM, WHETHER THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GET A PHYSICAL OR NOT.
