Weekend Update 4-11-21

Dear M100 Family,

Congratulations to our fabulous Winter Guard groups for their outstanding performances yesterday at their final competition of this season. Both the JV and Varsity groups came in 3rd in their respective categories. Judge comments were very positive and we hope everyone involved had a fantastic experience. I, personally, am so thankful these groups got to see their season to the end and had the opportunity to perform and compete. I have been so impressed with each and every member of the guard and their staff. Congratulations to all!!!

As we move toward the end of this semester, we look forward to the Wind Ensemble recording for their UIL evaluation this coming Friday the 16th, all other bands recording as well toward the end of this month and early next month, concert band, colorguard, and drumline auditions for next year, end of year performances, state solo & ensemble, and a marching band fundamentals camp June 1-4, and, of course, graduation and wishing our seniors all the best in their future endeavors!

Concert Wear for all Band Students

We wore concert black (tuxedos and dresses) for Pre-UIL. We had a high percentage of students who wore the proper items with their uniform.

For those who need a reminder - PLEASE remember to always wear the following with the tuxedo: long, black (no other colors) socks, black dress shoes (not tennis shoes)(marching shoes will work as long as they are in good condition and clean/polished), and a white, collared, button-down shirt under the jacket. The jacket and tux pants and bow tie are provided by the school.

For those wearing the concert dress - you must provide appropriate shoes - closed toe, black dress shoes. We recommend flats for safety. Also - please do not wear any undergarments that will show - the neck is a bit of a scoop neck - no sports bras please. Hair accessories should be black in color and modest. Jewelry is allowed but please - nothing large and distracting and avoid multiple rings/bracelets which may impede performance.

Concert uniforms are to stay at school. Thank you!

Here is a link to an appropriate white dress shirt for students wearing the tuxedo:
