Dear M100 Family,
Just some new information for you regarding events this week. (long email but please read all-Thx!)
Monday, August 12
9:00AM-students will meet on the practice field set up in concert arcs with instruments. No colorguard or front ensemble. ( Guard -see below for your schedule)(Front Ensemble meet in the band hall at 9am). Students in alternate section will join into their regular instrument sections. Trombonists may play trombone for this event if they wish.
Outside rehearsal in regular clothes: you'll need the following pieces in your flip folder:
Fight Song, Time Lords, Eye of the Tiger, and drumline will play a cadence.
BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT OUT TO THE FIELD IN CASES. Battery-bring your cases too.
10AM-load into trailer at the field. Tenor sax, bari sax, bass clarinet, mellophone, trombone, baritone, tuba, and battery equipment will be loaded onto the trailer. Flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and alto saxes can take instruments on the buses.
10:30AM- Continue practice-work on show drill until approximately 11:00AM
11:00AM-Dismiss from field, cool down, change into convocation uniform which is M100 jersey, M100 black shorts, and tennis shoes.
11:30AM- Load buses in bus loop. You will be assigned a bus
12:00PM- Arrive at Expo Center, unload truck, stage indoors to prepare for event.
1:00PM- Event begins-we play:
Eye of the Tiger
Approx. 1:10PM-we finish, go outside to load trailer, load buses
Approx. 1:45PM-arrive back at Belton high school where you may be picked up for the afternoon. Front Ensemble rehearsal will end at this time as well.
5:30PM-8:30PM- outside rehearsal for all members- brass, woodwinds, colorguard, battery and front ensemble percussion. We will practice our show drill and music.
Brass, Woodwinds, Battery, and Front Ensemble - please wear your red M100 t-shirts to practice. Any shorts are fine. Colorguard-Mr. H will let you know what shirt to wear. This greatly helps us in seeing the drill forms if everyone is wearing the same thing.
**Colorguard schedule - 8:30am-11am: in 9 gym, 12:30-4pm in 9 gym, 5:30-7:30pm on practice field.
Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Thurs. Aug. 15: Summer Band Practice for ALL from 7:30AM-7:30PM (same schedule as we had this past week Mon-Thurs.)
Wednesday, Aug. 14 - ALL members - 7:30AM-11:00AM - Outside rehearsal at practice field. All students will leave after this.
Friday, Aug. 16 - ALL members - 5:00PM rehearsal at Tiger Stadium to prepare for Parent Preview Showcase.
Show begins at 7:00PM.
Entire event should wrap up around 8:00PM. More details are on the band website.
REMINDER - Please return all required Drug Test forms to a band director by tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 12th. Extra blank copies are in the band hall. Form is also on our website: scroll over the "Home" tab and you'll see "Forms". Click on "Drug Testing Form". Print and sign and return to a director please.
Many of you already did this at Everything day but if you didn't , it's due tomorrow.
